A Special and Important Announcement to All Rhythm Gamers

Today, on June 26, 2023, it was announced that Akira Complex, a composer who has contributed to many rhythm games, has passed away from suicide. They have made a huge impact in the rhythm game community, inspiring composers and fans alike. Akira Complex has also made countless collaborations as well, including Hommarju, lapix, Camellia, among others. Their last song before their passing was Lucid Traveler, made for a collab event between Cytus II and Arcaea.

When this was announced, many people were shocked, including myself. Now, before this announcement was made, I wasn’t really interested in Akira’s work, but hearing the news now, I will be sure to take a listen to their songs!

Also, I would like to post a gameplay video in tribute to them, my first play of DIAMOND JACKAL, from IIDX 30 RESIDENT. However, there is a small problem. You see, IIDX is a very hard game to play, it requires lots of practice and sometimes, the game can be difficult to the point where it becomes somewhat unfair. That’s where I ran into a problem. Towards the end of the video, I shout “I don’t like this game!” in frustration. Of course, this is referring to me struggling to clear the song, however, considering the context of the situation, it could be mistaken as actual hate towards the game. For that reason, the video would have to be tweaked a bit. I really want to pay respect to Akira Complex. I will let you know when I post the video.

Now, with all that out of the way, I would also like to make an announcement regarding the next few weeks. I have plans to upload a ton of videos on my YouTube channel, including Taiko no Tatsujin content. I am almost done filming the videos and I will need to hurry up on editing them in the next few days. I will also be going on vacation throughout July, but the internet will be quite slow, so I will do my hardest to get it done on time.
